Let’s talk AI.

A lot of SaaS companies have lost the plot. Back in the day, people weren’t selling software. They were selling religion. The why, not the tech. A belief system you could rally around.

Now with AI, everything’s blurred. Everyone says the same thing: we do this, we do that. And the truth is, everyone can do the same thing. But buyers don’t want features. They want transformation.

Let’s get into it.

What’s Missing in AI

SaaS companies used to have a Point of View. They didn’t just sell software. They sold a religion.

  • HubSpot: Inbound isn’t a channel. It’s the future of marketing

  • Marketo: Email isn’t optional. It’s the engine of demand

  • Gong: If you’re not listening to your calls, you’re selling blind

  • Salesforce: No software. Just the cloud

  • Qualtrics: If you don’t measure experience, you can’t manage it

Those were lines you could build a company on.

Now look at AI...what's the rallying cry?

  • “We can build anything.” Cool, so can Legos.

  • “We’ll log your call notes.” Nobody reads them.

  • “We’ll summarize your meetings.” Nobody reads those either.

Buyers don’t just want tools, they want transformation.

I don't believe the problem isn’t the tech, it's actually the builders. They can ship code, but they can’t ship results because they’ve never owned an outcome and don’t know what one actually looks like.

That’s why the shelves are already full of AI toys with empty results. We don’t need more tools, we're drowning in them. What we need is a new doctrine. A playbook. A system for winning.

In other words, a Point of View.

That’s it for today. Connect with me on Linkedin if you actually want to understand what an Autonomous Organization looks like in the real world.
